IMPACT is a compelling, one-act solo show (plus a cellist and percussionist), written and performed by composer/lyricist/performer Amy Engelhardt.

Using projections, video, original music and an intimate storytelling style, Engelhardt connects a global and a personal narrative that shines a ray of hope on the best of humanity in the midst of tragedy.

(l) With Lockerbie resident Josephine Donaldson in Edinburgh. Josephine’s story is the emotional heart of IMPACT. The song, GIRL IN THE GARDEN was written for her.

As a professional musician and performer, most of my work leans towards comedy. And I’m… really… not into woo-woo freaky stuff. I mean, I’m from New Jersey.  But I was compelled to tell this story.

I graduated from Syracuse University in 1987, and always hoped to go to Lockerbie, Scotland to pay my respects to the 5 Syracuse students I knew who were killed in the terrorist attack on Pan Am Flight 103 on December 21, 1988. I had not been to the UK since I had been a student in Syracuse’s London program myself. But in 2018 (the 30th anniversary), a series of THIN MOMENTS and stunning coincidences led me to Lockerbie with two strangers. What started out as a bucket-list trip became a life-changing exploration of community, compassion and kindness.

There are no coincidences… only connections
